Misfire/rough idle during cold start
I want to start by saying I’m generally mechanically inclined, although not so much with turbo charged engines. I’ve mainly worked on domestic NA or NA straight 6 BMW engines. So, I’m admitting to some ignorance here.
I have a 2017 Focus RS. The car is stock minus a Radium catch can and unknown manufacturer blow off valve. I have had a rough idle and code thrown during startup idle. I suspected a vacuum issue and started to try and isolate. I’m getting negative evap system pressure which lead me to the purge valve. I bought an aftermarket purge valve and hose assembly from Autozone and installed it, but due to the catch can and or the blow off valve (I think) the port that the factory purge valve assembly would connect to at the lower passenger side of the intake manifold has been modified. This port/connection (pictured) I assume would have originally been for just the purge valve hosing, but is now adapted to accept two hoses. One for the purge valve and another that I’m not exactly sure of (maybe going to the blow off valve). I modified my new purge valve using a rubber hose and clamp to connect the same way the previous one was, but it has not resolved my issue.
Can anyone give me some pointers or advice? I accept that I’m a little lost with this engine.
