Am I ever losing much of my own money?

My total gain/loss by one day is -$4.89. Obviously, I invest much more than that to care about it, but I’m using Acorn to diversify my savings not necessarily to invest on purpose . I’m wondering if the profit or loss is ever really much of my money to lose or gain?

Advice for my first time in this role?

I just finished my first week as an administrative assistant for a real estate development company. It’s my first role in both this industry and this position.

The office I’ll be working from hasn’t had an in-person admin assistant in years, so I’m building the filing, paperwork, and digital organization systems from scratch while also acting as the main point of contact between the CEO and the rest of the team.

Right now, I’m in an awkward spot where I don’t have much formal training or many assigned tasks yet. When I mentioned having downtime, my CEO said there’s “a lot to do,” but I don’t yet know enough about the business to identify what those things are. I’ve been trying to create templates and organize documents, but it’s difficult when I don’t fully understand the workflow or priorities.

I also sat in on my first meeting, and it felt like everyone was speaking a different language. I couldn’t keep up with my notes because I’m still learning the terminology and how projects move through the company.

For those who’ve been thrown into the middle of an established business like this, what helped you get up to speed? How did you learn the workflow, organize information, and communicate effectively between people and projects when there wasn’t much training?
