Hi all! I’m a 26F with associated inflammatory / rheum arthritis from ulcerative colitis. I take Humira injections and a shit ton of methotrexate. I was in remission last year and it’s come back with full vengeance.

2 weeks ago I had the flare of all flares in my right knee. Couldn’t walk and went to ER for a steroid shot and high doses of prednisone. Rode that out until it went away and now it’s back. Back on prednisone. The arthritis moves to different joints every few months. I’ll do more prednisone and another shot. I have travel all month (10+ hour international flights).

My question for you all is - what has helped you? Creams? Supplements? Practices? I feel so helpless. I’ve tried the dry brushing, aspercream, ginger, turmeric, celery juice pills, no dairy, I’ve been fully no alcohol for 10+ months. I ice and elevate. I take a lap or two around the house so keep it mobile but other than that stay off my feet. I know prednisone is a miracle drug but I hate taking it and the time between flares is getting shorter and shorter.

And - how have you survived long flights? Other than taking a pain med and hoping the swelling doesn’t rip you open? Compression socks? More aspercream?

Sending you all lots of love and strength.
