Anyone have a similar case?

https://modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/3015546

I finally got the last piece for my case and have made the more “set and forget” connections (basically the gates from Mutant Brain and Trigger Riot going to the Tesseract switches then going to drum modules/Squid/Percall, and the the Westlicht pitch going to my oscillators. Then all the sound modules going to the mixers (matrix mixer offering some stereo effect send/return and feedback patching).

Having tons of fun with this and it feels like a complete system I can grow into. Only changes I might do is take the Westlicht into its own 34hp pod case and make room for some more utilities or modulation/envelopes.

Does anyone have a similar setup with one drum/perc case and one synth voice case, with switches for gates sending, multiple sequencers, and samplers able to sample anything going on? Any advice or things learned over time?

I finally worked on cable management and it’s a huge help. I was in spaghetti hell for a long time so I finally got some things to manage cables and I can see and access everything better.

There’s always the ever present issue of wanting things to be permanently connected for ease of use and productivity, but also the temptation to start from scratch for creative purposes and focusing on one “thing” and the building from there. I like both but I’m going to have to leave the switches connections in place because it is SO tight with splitter cables. Barely even possible to fit them
all. But I like the switches a lot for creative purposes.

Reverb sale question

I sold a TipTop 909 Hats module on reverb in great condition, and I believe the buyer may have put the power cable on backwards, because he says its not working right and just emits a low volume buzz or whine. It's a conundrum because I dont know if that is true, and he doesnt know whether or not I send them a bum module. So what is the best way to proceed? We are communicating well, but if I get sent back a dead module, it doesn't feel right that I have to eat the cost of that. Box was not damaged, packed well.

I got a used MPC One for a quite affordable price and I’m pretty excited to use it with my eurorack cases. I have a Force but the cv outs died so have always missed them. The One has 8 cv outs compared to Force’s 4, and now with the updated cv features it is incredibly flexible - at least on paper. I like that you can have them be envelopes - something I always need more of (I have too many triggers/gates as it is). And also you can have them be 8 separate 1-16 step sequencers of any speed (not really for pitch) that would be great for polymeter modulating. Also the cv mod matrix looks really useful and deep.

Anyone have any creative ideas they wanna share with their MPC’s with 8 cv outs and the new advanced cv playground stuff? I’m looking forward to this and a small 4ms pod case for a tiny portable sampling setup.

Just got the Archers Rig and freaking love its sounds. However one thing I really want in my hi-hats is random sample-and-hold to closed decay. When I try this with the module's internal random setting - it only seems to work while I'm holding down the closed-hat button. As soon as I let go - the random setting disappears - even though it's set on 9, the highest random setting. It seems to work on the open-hat, but not the closed.

So I thought, well maybe as a workaround I can just an external signal to modulate the decay for closed hat- but when I do this - same thing. It only will allow decay modulation while I'm pressing the closed-hat button physically, then it goes away when I lift it.

Is this normal behavior or did I get a bum one? If this is normal behaviour I'm very sad - because this is my favorite thing to do to spice up hi-hat patterns. The only workaround I can see is to just completely abandoned closed-hat trigs and only use teh open hat channel. But this would be major bummer as I like to do choking and use the usual closed-open hi hat pattern stuff.

The one complaint I have with this is that dang closed-hat button in general - I wish it didn't exist. Or I wish it was reverse- you press the button to change the open-decay only. Or I wish the decay knob worked on both open/closed at the same time, that would work too. I sold my Tip-Top 909 hats because it didn't have a decay-cv input - however it did have individual knobs for closed-decay and open-decay.
