Wondering if anyone has gotten the second screen on the RG DS to function as a keypad for systems like Intellivision, Colecovision, Atari 5200, etc.

There was an NDS emulator like this back in the day for Intellivision (Nintellivision) that mimicked the overlays too.

This and the second screen for PC10 seem like best use cases outside of NDS that might make it worth messing around with.

Been messing with dArkOSRE for a handheld and there's a feature baked right into that OS that would be nice if was directly added to Batocera on RPi3B+ and Anbernic XX handhelds:

Options > Remove ._ Files

Could not be easier to use this on dArkOSRE. Removes all hidden MacOS files from the microSD card directly on device and then restarts the system. It's fast and efficient.

Saves the step of trying to do that in MacOS itself and provides an easy way in case you forget.

In case anyone needed confirmation:

The V43 installer "batocera-rk3326-r36s-43-20260506.img.gz" does not work with so-called "clone" devices.

Just tried a brand new G80CA-MB V1.3-20251212 "R36s" device with a brand new SanDisk 64GB microSD card. Seems like Batocera attempts to load, but there is no screen and no visuals. The default Batocera audio does play. Maybe it'll be possible eventually with the right screen support, but it does not work with this latest installer right now.

Picked this up ultra cheap and intention is/was to hand off to a young family member loaded with some 8-bit & 16-bit. Honestly, might return and just wait to get a cheaper Anbernic. Though the build quality feels pretty solid. Buttons are tighter than RGXX devices.

Card was setup the same as Anbernic RG35XX Plus and RG28XX were. Those installed without issue, except for the RG28XX that had a screen rotation that needed to be fixed.

Will attempt the latest Knulli before moving onto what I believe would be the only option for this device (dArkOSRE).

Anbernic RG28XX, RG34XX, RG35XX, RG40XX, RG CubeXX device variant support

Likely will give this a shot soon for 28XX and 35XX Plus. Currently on dual-card Knulli on both, which is a fork of Batocera for handhelds, so maybe the last version Gladiator II will be the end of the road for the fork? If support is baked into an official Batocera release, seems like continuing to support the fork for those devices is a bit redundant.

Went to the “Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour Live in 3D” movie pre-screening tonight. Not a lot of people in the theater at all.

3D was better than some others I’ve seen in past. Usually messes me up a bit, but this was way better than expected. A few minutes to adjust and kind of just into it from that point on. There’s a particular type of shot that was a little awkward perspective with the 3D depth, but not nauseating or anything like that.

Don’t want to spoil for anyone, but it’s a decent mix of behind the scenes, interview and live performance footage. Billie and James Cameron did a really good job capturing the show vibe. Went with someone who’s not a huge fan and even they enjoyed it with new respect for Billie as an artist.

Run time is a few minutes shy of two hours.

Expect the soundtrack to be available for download at release.
