I want to have a sharing of experiences regarding entrepreneurship , real insights and learnings ,

Ill start, 31M , my expertise is in tech go to market and revenue operations in enterprise and SMB.

I launched about 7 or 8 business from e-commerce to digital marketing in the last 5 years.

My biggest success / failure i want to share is my 2 year agency lead gen business model , here are my learning why i thrived and why we failed

Success’s

Actual service people wanted

Proper sales operations that let us talk to our potential clients learn what they want and optimize quickly

A huge focus on optimizing each step of the system , from outreach to leqd management yo presentations and demo to closing deals as well as team weekly meetings , report sharing , kpi’s

Failure ( what destroyed us )

Left my job after 1 year of starting the business before having consistent revenue , this led me to panic sell to clients whom we cant actually help , and took lots of decisions based on stress and lack of money.

As a natural born salesperson i focused too much on the sales and revenue side and did give much priority to the operations and service delivery side ( this created highly unsatisfied clients ) and extreme churn .

Selling an incomplete product i understood that the product lacked a lot of things and i ignored it.

Wanted to grow as fast as possible ( approached multiple industries and countries ), i though that growing will give us more revenue which will solve all of our problems ( it didn’t ) , it was like trying to build a big building with a very weak basis , at the end it crumbled.

Verdict :

I will create another agency business model , and maybe pivot to SaaS once i have enough market knowledge and product market fit , would appreciate any infos around saas
