Need Help Fishing Brackish Water
Hey don’t hate me but, I didn’t really grow up fishing. My sons really want to learn to fish, they’re 5 and 7. I bought them fishing poles and we have gone fishing maybe 10 times. We’re fishing brackish water South Florida, West Coast. We have not caught anything. We’re not even getting nibbles.
We have tried going at night, we have gone really early, we have gone at dinner time. I bought Gulp Bait, hot dogs, NLBN. I have bought leader line, and sinkers. We have watched YouTube videos on how to cast and reel. All to no avail.
I don’t care personally, I just love being out with them and they love it. But I’m concerned they will lose interest if we don’t catch something soon. We went out this morning for 2 hours. Fish jumping out of the water everywhere. We have had Gar chase our line up to the doc and then take back off. I can’t get them to hook anything or even get a nibble.
I love this experience with my sons and I love hanging out with them. We have been getting up early on Saturday mornings and sneaking out before the rest of the family is up.
Anyone point a us in the right direction? Would appreciate it.
