Been looking into getting an expression pedal for controlling amp sims/ effects for my guitar and midi keyboard in Reaper, but based on what I have been seeing online it's a lot more convoluted than I thought it would be initially. From tutorials Ive seen online you either need some sort of adapter, and from what Ive seen they usually need some janky phone app to make work, an expression input on your interface or keyboard which i don't have (my keyboard is the Arturia Keystep 32), or a USB pedal. The USB pedals seem pretty expensive, like $250 plus(CAD), so Im wondering is there a simple option that isn't as expensive? or is it worth it to avoid the hassle?
