Woke up 10 minutes ago.

Played the first 15 seconds of the video linked below.

Colin and Caissie sang.

I hit “stop.”

Tears of joy.

The coffee is brewed, the donation is into NPR, a prayer of gratitude to the folks at Lincoln Center Theater — now I’m here, with those who understand, ready to continue… about to have the best nervous breakdown ever. 😉

Thanks for getting me on this one.

Some have luxury cars, designer clothes, yachts, fancy houses and lavish furnishings, astronomically priced football and concert tickets, lavish vacations; cigarettes, booze, and weed.

And God love ‘em. They earned them.

My husband Brian and I have Broadway, just five hours away, and an amazing array of great theater venues/companies in Rochester-proper and Rochester-adjacent: Toronto, Buffalo… and, yes… Milburn, NJ, and Utica! (God bless the Blackfriars Theatre, Geva Theatre, RBTL, Paper Mill Playhouse, and The Stanley Theatre.

So, on this Tony Awards nominations morning, what better time for this Broadway boy to pull out his toys?

Guess which show I’M rooting for?

I’m hoping someone else who bought the new Ragtime cast album on vinyl will chime in here.

I’ve just tossed it on the table and at least Disc One is pressed off center. (Mine is the beautiful “red, white, and blue“ version from Barnes & Noble.)

The centering problem isn’t horrible, but it is painfully obvious listening to beginning of each side (and what I consider to be the most important track, “Prologue”).

I’m not thrilled about the prospect of having to take it back only to get another pressing with the same problem. Anyone else having the same issue with either B&N pressing or the two others?

Must say, at least it’s a spotless pressing. Even without cleaning the record, which I always do, there isn’t a crack or a pop or any sort of noise (except at the beginning of each side).

However, I am noticing a disappointing lack of dynamic range at both upper and lower sides.

Hope I’m not sounding picky here, but this was a $45 investment. And I expect better from quality-conscious Concord.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience and perhaps guiding me through mine.
