Tibial growth plate fracture, 4 1/2 month old puppy :(
Any suggestions on dealing with an extremelyyy active puppy about to have surgery and in a cast for possibly 8 weeks? My poor guy got spooked on a walk by a neighbor jogging down the street and bolted a bit, somehow twisted his leg wrong and managed a fracture.
Obviously we have our after care instructions from our vet but we are stressed. He is VERY high energy, our 3 year old adult dog is too. We felt like we were on the right track finally with training, bonding/play time with big dog, slowly giving him more freedom around the house. And I just hate we have to go back to more confinement and separation when things were going so well, especially with the adolescent stage upon us.
Really just wanting to know if anyone has dealt with something similar before. How did you get through it? What can we do to make this easier on ourselves and our baby? :( :( :(
