Actor apologizes for making accusations against "Clownspiracy" filmmakers

We’ve seen a number of posts circulating online regarding recent behind-the-scenes content.

Much of what is being shared is incomplete or taken out of context.

We ask that people allow the full project to speak for itself. Thank you.

This is Yumpo, a CGI character from our indie feature Clownspiracy (made for under 10K).

The whole film mixes live action + CGI and was made with a 2-person crew and 1 VFX artist over about a year.

We wanted the creatures to have an otherworldly feel.

Would love feedback!

Full film is free here if you want to see how it holds up across scenes:

We spent about a year making a no-budget fantasy horror feature called Clownspiracy with a 2-person crew on set and a single VFX artist handling everything in post. It was a mix of live action with little creatures.

The tone sits somewhere between Beetlejuice and Gremlins — weird, slightly comedic, but still trying to feel unsettling.

The challenge was pulling that off at this scale. We couldn’t rely on full CGI, so we ended up mixing practical effects, camera tricks, and targeted VFX to sell things that should’ve been way out of reach for our budget.

A lot of shots were designed around limitations — what we could physically build, what we could fake in-camera, and what one VFX artist could realistically finish.

We put together a breakdown of how we approached the creature and effects — would genuinely love feedback from other filmmakers working at this level!

VFX breakdown here if anyone’s interested:
