Verbos complex vco

Between the Moog DFAM and the Verbos Electronics Complex Oscillator paired with a RYO Aperture LPG i have, which would you recommend adding to my rack?

My main voices are a Radical Frequencies Dual VCO with Antimatter Sub Ring, a Frequency Central Raging Bull v3, and a VHIKK X, ultra Kick and tiptop hats and clap.

I also already have an FM Aid, plus several delays and distortion modules.

I’m looking for another powerful analog voice with a rough, aggressive, and organic character, capable of deep basslines, atonal sequences, metallic FM textures, noisy percussion, and evolving industrial sounds for dark techno in the style of benders...

I need something versatile and playable, not just a one-function module. Which option would complement my current system better and offer the widest sonic range?

Any other good choice?

Hi! I’m looking for a compact Eurorack stereo distortion module, analog, focused on crunchy, gritty, broken textures rather than clean saturation.

I’m aiming for something in the vein of Neutral Labs Nermal / Elmyra-style distortion — raw, characterful, a bit unpredictable — mainly to add analog grit and color to voices like Vhikk X.

Key requirements:

- Stereo (important)

- Analog or at least analog-feeling (no sterile DSP sound)

- Crunchy/ textured rather than just overdrive

- Relatively small HP (compact system)

- Ideally affordable

Any recommendations?

Hi, I’m comparing the Shakmat Battering Ram and the Hexinverter Mutant BD09 for techno live sets and studio use.

I want a kick that sounds brutal, heavy, fat and professional, with strong low end and enough versatility for different tracks.

What interests me a lot about the Mutant BD09 is the integrated sub section. It seems like more than just extra bass: I could use the sub low or high, sine or square style, almost like a second layer/oscillator inside the kick. That seems useful for making different kick characters, tom-like sounds, kick+bass style hits, cleaner deep kicks or more aggressive industrial tones.

I also own a RYO Aperture, so I can process the kick afterwards with saturation/transient shaping.

What also concerns me is whether the Battering Ram can sound too cold, clinical or overly digital compared with the Mutant BD09, especially for raw techno where I want weight, body and character.

Also, Colin Benders has used both modules in his live setups, so that makes me even more curious about the real strengths of each one.

In your real experience, does the Mutant BD09 integrated sub make it more versatile and musically useful than the Battering Ram, or is the Ram still the better overall choice for powerful techno kicks?

Which one would you honestly choose for live + studio techno?

Thanks a lot
