Long story short I’ve been out of work for 4 years due to family illness and becoming a full time carer for a loved one until they passed away. I’ve recently gotten a job at a daycare close to home. I’m so nervous and have been nearing a panic attack all week in anticipation of starting work again. My last centre was absolutely beautiful and I loved it (it was a not for profit). I’m starting at a for profit chain centre, I’ve never had good experiences in those environments because I hate the idea of children being for profit and staff not being listened to. I know this place could be different but I’m so nervous.

I’m also scared that I won’t be up to scratch because I’ve been out of work for so long. Has anyone else dealt with this? How did you handle it and was the transition back into work hard?
