I’ve been experimenting a bit with mixing more structured, whole-group teaching with moments where students can work more independently in the music room.

For example, giving them a few different tasks to complete over a period of time (playing, listening, small projects), while still keeping some guided sessions where we sing or play together as a group.

I’ve noticed it can really increase motivation for some students, but I’m still figuring out the balance.

Curious if anyone else does something similar, or how you structure that kind of mix in your classroom.
