Lenovo tools equivalent to the HP ones? (or... is Thinkbook for business users?)
We are a HP shop since I started in IT, but management wants to look into other brands like Lenovo. Our manager ordered some Lenovo Thinkbook's 16 G8 IAL 21SK and I wonder if this is even targeted at the business consumers. We use a lot op HP Elitebooks ,which is obviously for Business use and lately we added some HP Probooks and all the HP tools support these laptops
Other tools like OSDCloud and the recently updated Driver Automation Tool also support most HP hardware and some Lenovo hardware, but our Thinkbook is not among the list of supported products by OSDCloud or the Driver Automation Tool and even the Update Retriever tool from Lenovo does not have support for Thinkbooks when you want to create your own local driverpack.
This makes me wonder if the Thinkbook is a valid alternative for us since we are used to automating everything from driver installations, driverpacks, BIOS management (including setting the initial BIOS password) etc.
There are certainly some tools availble from Lenovo which look like a alternative to the HP Image Assistant (Lenove System Updater), but we haven't quite had the time to look into that.
Anyone who has more experience with this type of Lenovo Hardware (Thinkbook) or should we forget it and go for a Thinkpad (or stay with HP ofcourse). I am willing to learn how to support this hardware, but if it is not intended for business consumers, it will be a waste of time and effort.
