My first ride

My first ride

I saw the storage unit find of the woody and thought you all might Iike to see my first board, or what's left of it. 86 performer. The binding rotted off it and fell on the floor in 2005 or so. The other did the same 3 or 4 years later. Just disintegrated. I like the visual so much I made the longboard during my kids younger years. It started life as a blank maple deck. Some spray paint, masking tape, and a vinyl sticker later I had a inverse matching set. There's 5 or 6 vintage boards in my stack still and the Simms asym race board would still go out a few years ago but I've now given that up because it's kinda horrible. The rest aren't safe. Hope you dig the history. FWIW, the next 2 snowboards in my life were destroyed in use so badly that they didn't exist much later. The 3rd was repainted by me in an attempt to "freshen er up" that basically failed in the cold. No idea where the next few went either. This performer has always hung around with me.

Fast tire with flat protection

Currently using rocket Ron in race compound 2.25. It flats too easily. I'm thinking of adding a tire liner, either Vittoria airliner or tannus lite.

What fast tire is there with flat protection? I use maxxis on the other bikes in exo or exo+ and have few issues. Exo+ isn't available on all the xc tires. Ideas?

Usually once a year I get to ride this mid 80s cross road Cruz I built up as a 29er/700c gravel hauler to ski before the highway opens up. It's good fun. This build is one of my favorites because if the parts and how well it rides. Jones bars and magura gen 2 hydro rim brakes. White industries 90s USA forged cranks in 110bcd gravel flare. Every pannier configuration possible. It's such a good ski hauler too.
