Switch degrees to either PPE or Economics and Finance?
I’m currently studying Politics and Philosophy at the university of Manchester, and to put it politely, I hate my course. The mandatory modules are truly nothing close to what I expected them to be and I’m not enjoying my degree in the slightest. I’m now in the process of switching degrees, and would like some help regarding what to switch to.
To be completely honest, I chose my degree because I didn’t think I’d get the grades I needed for PPE, and I was a lot more passionate about both politics and philosophy at the time (which has begun to fade as im just not enjoying my degree). I did end up getting the grades for PPE, but my uni wouldn’t let me switch as the course was full, however, im now in a position where im deciding between switching to either PPE or Economics and finance.
I do absolutely love economics; I did it at a-level and knew I wanted to pursue a degree in it, yet im not entirely sure whether either PPE or E&F would be better suited for me. I would like to go into finance after my degree, though I am aware of how competitive the industry is. That’s why I’d like some advice, would a PPE degree or E&F degree help me advance in the finance industry?
I do still love politics and philosophy, which is why I was glad to discover that E&F at uom offer politics and philosophy modules which means I’d be able to actually choose modules that I truly enjoy rather than be forced to do modules I do not like at all.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
