Advice on system configuration please.
Hey solar people. First time using reddit so hope this isn't too rambling.
I'm getting quotes on a solar system with battery for my household of two, maybe three in the near future. It is a modern house, full electric, one person WFH 3 days. Power cuts rarely occur. Probably get an EV (Leaf) later this year that will do low mileage.
Lightforce Solar has quoted $20k for 6kw panels, 6kw Sigen SP2 inverter and 6kw battery with no gateway.
OR
$30k for 8kw panels, 8kw Sigenstor inverter, 9kw battery and gateway.
I'm really not fussed about having a gateway as we rarely get power cuts and I believe the inverters disconnect from grid automatically during power cut.
I'm more interested in load shifting than selling to grid so I would prefer an over sized array vs. inverter size.
Based on all of this I am thinking of 8-8.5kw of panels, 6kw inverter and 9kw battery with no gateway.
Question 1. What are thoughts on my reasoning for system configuration?
Question 2. Does anybody have feedback about the Sigen SP2 6kw inverter vs. Sigenstor 6kw inverter? (SP2 is cheaper hence my considering it)
