stainless steel counters

are they real?? I see them all over instagram (maybe I just keep clicking on them) but are these just show kitchens? they also seem maybe more popular in europe? why should I or shouldn’t I consider them? My main concern is they might be loud? Ideally I’d do SS on the perimeter and soapstone on the island, to avoid chipping around the sink.

this the particular inspo I like https://www.studio-teller.co/randolph-road

Hello

I was trying to keep one wall clearish of upper cabinets, but want at least one near the dishwasher for glass storage. Seems like the conventional wisdom is to have equal spacing from object to window in either side. Will I regret breaking this rule? It would be about 23 inches on one side and 35 on the other. And while I’m posting, lmk if you have opinions on hutch style vs. normal upper in the corner there. It’s a loss of about 4 sq ft of counter space to go hutch style. The extra counter space would be nice and I’d add an 8in rounded open shelf in the end of the upper to ease that sharp corner (making the spacing 15 and 35), but I was thinking the hutch style makes it less weird to have uneven spacing, since it’s more furniture like. White box on the wall is scone placement and water kettle and bean grinder on the counter lol. Ty as always for your help!
