Part time options - newborn care specialist vs post partum doula
Hi everyone,
I am in Physical Therapy school and have over 10 years of childcare experience as well as a background as an EMT with my license valid through Dec 2028 - I have several families that would be references for me and I am trying to navigate what credential I could add to my portfolio that would help bump my pay to reflect my experience and add to my clinical background.
I have seen Newborn Care Specialist, Post Partum Doula, and a bunch of private options - but I'm not sure which would best work with my full time school schedule and give me the most credibility. I have overnight experience, experience with twins, etc. - could I retroactively log those hours since my clientele won't be as consistent (3-5 families over time, shooting for 1-2 times a week)? Could I just advertise the completion certification in addition to my background for credibility?
New to this world but would love to add to my clinical background, pay for school and bump my hourly rate formally, and help my career as a pelvic floor PT dealing with new moms! :)
