Hi,

I am writing in for a friend asking if there is any help she can get. She works at a company teaching children from other countries English. With this job, she is considered a 1099, freelance worker.

She recently called in sick due to her child being in the emergency room, and not only did they take all the cancelation fees out of her check, but they also decreased her pay by $1.00 per hour.

Is there anything she can do? She is already looking for a new job.
