No response after a great meeting. Help please
I cold emailed a US PI last January and he responded to my email on the same day, we sat up a meeting and it was great. He complimented my achievements and was very genuine in it. He stated that he was “impressed” by my skills. The meeting overall was great and I felt that I am connected with him. We dissolved the postdoc position, and he stated that they will open a position in late April. And he connected me with one postdoc in his lab. And I did a task that was provided by the postdoc and was supposed to work with them remotely, but the postdoc did not came back to me, saying that he was busy.
No communication after the meeting with the PI. They posted the position 2 weeks ago on the university job portal and I applied and sent an email to the PI that I applied. But he didn’t respond and I sent a follow up email last week and did not get a response also.
Can you help me in what to do in this situation? Should I keep sending emails or send him a message on LinkedIn( i am connected to him on LinkedIn) or just forget about it.
