asking 270+ scorers for genuine advice and opinions on my performance in dedicated
Hi guys,
This post is 100% not meant to be rage bait at all, it is a genuine question to the beasts who were able to score above 270 on the real Step 2. I wanted to share my scores thus far given I’m 3 weeks away from test day, and see how it compares to yours throughout dedicated.
My goal has been to hit above 270 since I entered 3rd year, partially because I’m a DO student and I have something to prove to myself, and also because I’m applying a relatively competitive specialty. I know 270 is probably a bit overkill, but I think it would be nice to have as insurance for matching given I don’t nuke my interviews..
But I wanted to hear from you guys; here are my stats and some baseline items for you to refer off.
STEP 1 and COMLEX 1 pass first try
Honored IM, General Surgery, Psych, and scored above 85th percentiles for the remainder of my rotations
NBME 10 (first one): 262
NBME 11: 266
NBME 13: 263
AMBOSS SA: 261
UWSA1: 265
CMS forms: did most of them except surgery, ranges from 72% to 92% with most being above 80%
I kind of find myself plateauing below 270 and am not sure if this is something that you 270+ scorers went through or if I still to cover more content gaps to score any higher on the real thing. Obviously there may be some variability from my specific performance that day, but I’m generally a consistent test taker.
Any feedback is appreciated! Respectfully, not meant to be rage bait at all.
