Two things stand out for me - apart from fundamental skills errors and they start at ‘expectations and standards’ which have been fundamentally forgotten about at this club.
The list has not been maintained adequately and
Players fitness is sub par
Let me explain:
List management: no accounts were taken for aging stars back when we should’ve been looking forward ie. JK, Gov, Hurn, Shuey etc
These blokes left a huge hole that has STILL not been filled. This should’ve been identified long before this predicament we now find ourselves in via list management and risk assessments.
Look at Brissy and Geelong - have all remained successful. Brissy recruited the forwards, Geelong the backs and mids.
This is a board level catastrophe, they have continually allowed this to go on.
Remedy: Move on or trade AT LEAST 18 blokes over two years and New list manager required ASAP
For at least 4 seasons we have been WELL below average, not quick enough, not strong enough and that manifests itself in fundamental skill errors we are seeing such as miss kicks, miss handballs and ultimately bombing the ball forward aimlessly.
This all starts at board level - wtf are they even doing. I see fitter kids at South freo colts level. Im so perplexed that this has been allowed to continue and manifest the way it has. Im honestly in disbelief.
Its a disaster!
Mark Duffield said this early in the week and i agree but want everyones opinion - are we playing too many natural backs in this team?
Thats not including full back and back pockets or the emergencies. Is this right?
Wow great start. Herbert might be my new favourite player! Tim Kelly is winding back the clock… Hamish wtf??
Loving it!
Booked for next month - couldn’t be happier… Although slightly apprehensive.
Robotic anterior resection + flexible sigmoidoscopy.
Wow what a journey. 45m, Long story short, really bad DV attack with infection in March. Worst one by far but average 2 minor ones every year for last 6 yrs. Saw the surgeon today who said ‘lets just cut it out so you can move forward with life’.
Was a relief to say the least because this has been a bad 6 yrs - pain, flares and IBS.
He said ill be as good as new. Hopefully he is right.
Ill keep this group updated.
Side note - all the GPs, and Gastros couldn’t help and dont know how to quite frankly. When you see the right colerectal surgeon it becomes clear.
