Given all the choices whats stopping anyone from vibe coding their own note app?

I love all the options, they are pretty cool. this question might be me reinventing the wheel. but it seems like the options are so varied. one runs locally but doesnt have sync, another has free sync but no community plug ins (or very few), many just use the customer's cloud services to sync which seems lazy imo for a service provider, most have E2EE but not all, some have different ways of nesting (ei the whole page or a specific spot on the page).

how many people have taken it upon themselves to just make their own with all the features they want? so much of this is open source anyways, on paper it would be a matter of mixing and matching app capabilities.

im asking because I was thinking of getting a small local model (1b or less) to go through my notes, and make tags for me anytime i uploaded an ai conversation. then I started thinking about the note apps I use (obsidian and notesnook) and the ones I dont and how it would be nice to combine alot of these features.

TLDR; has anyone made their own note app with all the features they want?

anyone using hermes to talk to browser ai chats?

Can I get hermes cli agent to talk to my ai chats through my browser? has this been done? is it easy? is it worth it?

Seems the free api models arent as good as the models available on the ai websites. Since hermes can grow, on paper it seems like a great idea to constantly bounce ideas, plans, and research off of a stronger model.

i know from trying to aggregate my browser chats that there are issues with scraping chat data and interacting with the dom. if the service provider senses automated interactions with the dom then it could restrict access and they routinely change their code to avoid data scraping. thats about as far as I got in that area

honest truth is even though I have a bundle of free api's (thanks awesome free-llm-apis!) I still would much rather take advantage of what the browser has to offer if possible. I'd be down to try some free accounts first, in case they sense dom automation and restrict my account.

Controversial take: I’d love the chance to opt in and use my conversations to help make Lumo better

Maybe I’m missing something. If this is already an option then please lmk.

I love the idea of having a private llm to work with. Mostly as an idea though.

I personally don’t actually need it. I’ve vibe coded 2 projects and I’m looking into doing more. I mostly use llms to go down various rabbit holes that fascinate me. Usually for 2mins to 2 weeks at a time.

I’m 100% fine with sharing at least 95% of all of that if it helps the model grow and makes it more capable for others to use who actually need privacy. Ei journalists and activists.

It seems in some spaces telemetry is highly frowned upon. When it’s forced on everyone at all times that is 100% true imo. I tend to opt out of data collection except for projects I believe in, which right now is not a long list.

For this project I’d like to opt in. Maybe even on a per conversation/message basis.
