Advice on collection of late father

Unfortunately my dad very recently passed away after losing his battle with cancer. In the last few years he had started building a collection and had amassed about 20+ Japanese imported guitars. Tragically he was so ill he didn't get a chance to make a will so were weren't sure what to do with them.

I will be gifting a couple to friends and family my mum has suggested to donating some to a local youth charity group which I believe my dad would have supported, but I wanted to get an idea of values as believe some could be quite desirable. He spent his last couple of years doing a lot of research about vintage Japanese guitars and their incredible quality (I'm more a synth guy and know exactly how well-engineered their instruments are).

Whilst I we are happy to donate some wondering if anyone here could tell me if there are any stand out ones that are worth selling or possibly holding on to? I've attached a bunch of photos that I took today and have also uploaded them to the cloud for help with sharing on other groups. I would like to stress that this is not a sales post but more to get information on standouts in the collection as I don't know a lot about it myself and can be difficult even to research if I don't know the models and eras etc. If any in the photos aren't Japanese please let me know and I'll remove them from the post.

Finally if we do decide to sell any then I will make sure to advertise them elsewhere. Hope this is OK and if not please feel free to remove the post and accept my apology as I wasn't sure. Thanks.

Poly-61M battery replacement

Just yesterday I picked a Poly-61M that's in great condition and working perfectly. The seller told me it was sold to him by the son of a gentleman who passed away so he's not familiar with the history.

I'd assumed the battery had been changed as surely there's no way it wouldn't have leaked catastrophically by now. The seller kindly let me pop the hood and take some photos.

To me it looks like the original but ce n'est pas possible! I can't see any visible leakage or corrosion.

Anyway first order of business is to sort it out. Here are my two options

A) Remove battery and mount a modern equivalent 3.6v NiMh (not NiCad) off on a board seperate far way from the digital PCB. I have a 3D printer so can make an enclosure to prevent battery spillage from getting anywhere.

Pros: No circuit modification required so keeping it closer to stock.

Cons: Battery could leak, but not as badly as older NiCad variants.

B) Modify the circuit to accept a CR2032 3.3V Lithium in holder.

Pros: no risk of leakage and easier to replace.

Cons: requires modification of mainboard, rated lower than 3.3V so RAM would be running lean (around a 10% margin which is right on the cusp of acceptable for in spec battery).

Which approach do folk here think it better? A or B? Thanks!
