CRT for anime is just as great and important as gaming.
Watching Dragon Ball GT and wow, it looks incredible. Every time they power up, the screen briefly flashes white, and doing so causes the screen to shake. The screen shakes look intentional as the power-up animations always cause the screen to shake a bit. You don’t see the screen flashing white at all on the CRTs, only on LCD screens do you see it.
Were the animators using CRT technology to their advantage?
