Alocasia Melo- not growing
We recently got into houseplants and my husband developed a fascination with Alocasias of a few varieties. This Melo was in a rescue box (cheaper but with something unknown wrong with it). Our other rescues have all flourished back to health but we can’t figure out what’s up with this one!
- has not grown a new leaf- even a sprout- in two months
- tips and sides of leaves curling inwards
- brown flecks on the stems
- crusty substance around the pot’s rim (may be adhesive from the delivery?)
- plant is under a grow lamp for about 10 hours a day; when off, it’s in a corner between a south- and west-facing window, dimly lit
- watered thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch
It’s evidently not dead- how can we give it a bit of happiness and get it growing?
