Storms and water
I was in a group of people and we always used to go on this specific island but one day when we were going there me and this two girls were separated from the group and this was supposed to be a normal routine for us and as I started to go down the stairs reach the island there was a storm\tornado warning. We were suddenly caught up in the tornado so we decided to push through the route and reach the island but I froze and started to admire the tornado and its surrounding cause the scene was breathtaking( imagine you see a big tornado heading your way and small tornados are forming at the other side of island mixed with sunset and ocean view.)
Any ways we started to cross the water and reach the island and out of the two girls only one survived, the air was polluted with the storm and tornando but me and this one girl held onto our breath and finally found this one shelter. I had taken some damage because as I held my breath I started to gasp for air but due to the air being polluted I felt a burning sensation on my chest but me and this one girl made it to safety.
Our next struggle was food and water. We searched the shelter and found some packaged foods which would last us for 2-3 days and fresh water but we knew that if we were to survive in that island we would need more food. At Day 2 the girl got sick cause of the cold she had fever and I took care of her, brought warm water and heated the food(ps we found a shelter that had food and fresh water ) . The girl and I we, became kinda close from day 3. There were moments when the weather would return to normal for a moment and we used this moment to hunt/search for food and water which was in found in another shelter but moving out of the shelter was dangerous as the weather had an unstable pattern. Days go by and suddenly we get used to this life but one day there was this moment where the weather was normal so I decided to search for more foods cause we didn’t know when the storm would be back.
I searched the island at first but didn’t find anything, at the shore of the sea there was a boat which was in a dire condition but nevertheless it worked. I hopped on to the boat and went towards the city. As I ventured in the city looking for food suddenly I found this one store open. People were rushing as everyone’s food was getting out of stock and we didn’t know when the storm would hit us.
I looked through the store I had 25 in my pocket and I was contemplating buying a cigarette or buying food that could last was one week 😭 after a lot of consideration I chose food 😭😭.
As I was paying it suddenly started to rain and I knew that storm was heading and if I needed to rush cause I would need to go through the ocean. Suddenly there came two government officers telling the store to shut it down and everyone to go in their own home and take cover from the storm. When I made it out of the store there was no ground for me to walk those two had came here through the boat. I was dumbfounded but then came Two workers telling me that I made an stupid decision instead of taking shelter and deep down I knew that I wouldn’t be able to cross through the ocean but I needed to make it out of this storm tonight.
The distance between the boat and us was quite large and suddenly I find that water level has increased. We needed to swim in order to get through that boat there was three of us. At first this one guy went and swam through the water and reached the boat. It was my turn now suddenly the wind has gotten stronger making the stable water to get rough but I found the courage and pushed myself. Due to wind I found myself pushing through the water harder than anyone else but I nearly downed. I searched for something to hold onto as I reached halfway the current of water had gotten a lot stronger. I nearly lost my life by getting swept through the currents of water and I knew that I may die if I were to push through the water to get in the boat but I would surely die if I didn’t move. The guy who had reached earlier shouted telling me to hurry up and told me to swim through it and he would help me. I gathered every bits of courage and went for the boat but the current of water was a lot stronger that I imagined no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t move forward easily as I used every bits of energy I had, I noticed the energy living through my body and getting tired before I knew it I was drowning.
I didn’t know how far had I came towards the boat but as I as drowning in the deep water my vision started getting blurry, then came a hand of a person which grabbed me through the depth of the water I raced against the time, will I die in the water or make it out alive everything had slowed down at this point as I was making my way through the surface and I finally made it through.
I woke up in my bed eyes wide open and my lungs gasping for air as if I had drowned, everything was just a dream but it felt so real. I dream quite often but this dream felt the more real than any dreams I had dreamt.
