Random minute long frame drops
Howdy folks,
I have been having an issue with my deck lately that I can’t seem to find a fix for, so figured I would check here.
Long story short, when playing games, I will get random periods where frame rate will drop down to around 4-5 FPS. This happens for about 30 seconds, before everything returns to normal. It will stay normal for a few minutes, before the frame rate drops again. Rinse and repeat.
When the frame rate drops, the fan seems to speed up a bit, before turning off. Shortly after the fan turns off, the frame rate usually returns to normal.
I’ve had it happen on multiple games, including: Enshrouded, Valheim, Rimworld, Raccoin, Nioh 2 and Sifu.
I’m not sure if it’s a setting that I’ve changed inadvertently, a hardware issue, or what. But any help that can be offered would be greatly appreciated.
Attached is a screenshot of the performance metrics taken the last time it happened. I’m a technological Neanderthal, so I’m not sure if any of the numbers will actually help with diagnosis, but figured I would post.
