I wonder if anyone can help? Ideally, I want to take the train from Kigoma to Tabora in June/July. I've tried the various links on Seat 61 and Google, but I either get a "500 error" or the message that there's no trains. This latter, of course, might be true...

Would anyone know whether there is a train running ever between Kigoma and Tabora, or where I could find this out online? (I'd be very open to going Dar-Kigoma and Tahora -Dar by train also)

I realise I can just go to the station on arrival ask, but unfortunately, for reasons too dull to go into, this probably isn't much of a viable option.

Ideally, I'd like to drive, but I think the time, cost, and risk (I'm not at all able when it comes to anything more complicated than blowing up a tyre and refilling a tank) means that won't be viable on this occasion.

Any suggestions are very gratefully received!

What I'm after - Seat 61 says they don't run every day - is the return timetable for Dar to Kigoma, and from Kigoma to Tabora return.

Does anyone either know which site is functioning and the best to use, even if I can't book tickets there?

Alternatively, does anyone know where I can find this information? I might end up flying Dar-Kigoma, and Tabora-Dar, but I need to travel overland Kigoma/Ujiji to Tabora - I think the length of the drive, and my lack of expertise with cars in general makes it unwise to rent a car for that journey (in June/July) but I'm happy to be corrected on that - funds probably wouldn't cover a driver, unfortunately.
