I live in a suburb of a big city (and I don't really lile it here but can't move for now). I thought having kids would make it pretty easy to find community. But that hasn't been the case. I make lots of playdates but none of the parents talk in between. When I was a kid, I had tons of neighbor friends and would just go hang out after school. That led to my parents becoming friendly with neighbors and we would have BBQs and stuff. I miss that. How do I make that happen? I live in a condo so that is probably working against me. There are no group activities here in the condo complex. I'm trying to build community through an interest as well (music) but it is slow-going.
