Rectal cancer (30M)

Hello everyone,

Like title, I am 30M diagnostic with Rectal cancer (3C) + thousand polyps (in colon)+ 4 lymp nodes

Finished chemo (12 sections in 6 months), Scans show tumor shrunk and no lymp nodes seen

Radiation (25 sections) done and I am waiting for 2 months to get scan again.

At the beginning, the surgeon told me that he would remove whole colon and part of rectal and will re-connect later so I may / may not need a bag permanently since my tumor near anus.

However, my mom’s surgeon/GI doctor suggest that I need to remove colon and rectal and have permanent bag because my cancer is caused by gene mutations.

Tbh, I am leaning toward the permanent bag case since I do not want it reoccur.

It is maybe a silly question but anyone has colon + rectal remove get the colorectal reoccur?

And later, are there any chance I would get cancer somewhere else?

Also, do I need to follow strict diet? Before, I workout and follow a carb+protein diet.

Thank you in advance
