Eden Hazard on replacing Ronaldo: “I never went to Real Madrid to replace him. The media created that narrative. I have completely different style. I couldn’t score 60 or 70 goals a year, in fact, I barely scored that many in my entire career. I went there to play like Eden, not to replace Ronaldo."
- Do you think it was a bit heavy to succeed Ronaldo?
“In my opinion, I wasn’t there to replace him. It’s the media that says, ‘Yeah, he will replace Ronaldo.’ But I think I have a completely different style of play from Ronaldo.”

“Basically, I didn’t want to take number 7. I wanted Luka Modrić’s number 10. I thought he was going to say, ‘Come on, take it,’ but he didn’t give it to me.”
