TCS NQT 2026 Experience | 2026 Batch | Jharkhand
So sharing my complete TCS NQT 2026 experience because reading Reddit posts helped me a lot during preparation.
I am from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand and currently a Final Year B.Tech CSE student (Batch 2026) from a Tier-3 engineering college. Honestly, I didn’t have any extraordinary skills or achievements. Did a basic UI/UX internship and that’s it.
TCS NQT Exam
📍 TCS iON Center, Ranchi
📅 14th April 2026
The exam overall was moderate but Numerical Ability was honestly very tough.
Coding Questions I Got:
1. Highest frequency count related problem
2. DP based shortest path cost calculation problem
Frankly speaking, I had prepared mostly by seeing recent repeated coding questions online. Used DeepSeek, ChatGPT and inbuilt Python functions to somehow learn the logic quickly before exam 😅
Then on 23rd April 2026, I got the Interview Selection Mail.
Interview Details
📍 Kolkata Geetanjali Park Center
📅 7th May 2026
⏰ Reporting Time: 10 AM
Reached around 9:30 AM. And then bad luck started 🥲
Document verification itself got completed around 2 PM and my interview happened around 3 PM.
Room Details
➡️ Room No. 16 ➡️ Panel had only TR + MR ➡️ No HR Round
My resume was mostly based on Data Analysis projects. First Question Itself Shocked Me 😭 The interviewer kept my resume aside and asked:
“Tell me something about yourself which is NOT written in your resume.”
Complete blank moment 💀
Still somehow answered:
- Qualified GATE - Interested in Sports - Few personal things
Technical Questions Asked
Coding Questions
Reverse a String - I used slicing first - He asked me to do it using another method
Write one-line Python code to print your name 100 times - Couldn’t answer properly
Selection Sort Code - Worst luck again 😭 - I knew Bubble Sort and Quick Sort better but panicked on Selection Sort - Still explained the logic verbally
Write code for Abstraction (asked by MR)
Theory Questions
- What is AI? - Basics of ML - Prompt Engineering - What is a Prompt? - Different ML Algorithms - Recursion
MR Round / SQL Question
Again bad luck 😭 He asked: “How will you print the 5th row from a table?” I forgot the ROW_NUMBER() approach at that moment. I answered using LIMIT and OFFSET, but he asked for another method.
And then the interview ended. The Painful Part 🥲
On 18th May 2026, many friends who interviewed on the same day received Offer Letters.
But for me… No offer letter
Just waiting 🧿.
