Madman and grog: It’s not as bad as you would think, but it’s still sloppy crud
It was to be expected that this movie would follow suit with the show, but what surprised me was there was a section of the movie that actually had some merit. It’s minuscule, it’s barely a thing, but when you get an extended sequence of Grogan Josh taking care of mr metal commander, it’s enough to pull you out of the nap you were surely about to have halfway through the film.
Don’t get it twisted, this movie is a boring, dull, nothing burger of a film with a couple of laugh out loud dumb scenes (theres a part where the hutts tell mando they only have an old photo of Roti Bread Hutt, and the hologram they show looks exactly the fucking same as every other hutt hahaha, it’s not played for laughs but I lost it lol), but I think it’s safe to say it’s not as bad as season 3 of the show, if only for the fact that the plot is actually somewhat coherent.
Wouldn’t recommend to anyone that didn’t have a morbid curiosity as to the state of current Star Wars, 7 years after TROS released. I wouldn’t even recommend it to someone that does. It was a slog to get through.
