Roadblock the first: learned about video card widths as well as heights
(previously, I told y'all I'd be telling you about my journey to getting into 3D printing.)
Desired scanner: the yet-to-be-released RevoPoint POP 4
Starting platform: Dell Optiplex 7080 small form factor, 32G RAM, onboard GPU
Current Platform: Same, but with 64G RAM.
Searched around, asked ChatGPT and Gemini, both said the MSI RTX 3050 would fit in my small form factor computer.
Got the GPU, it's a pretty little b@stard, with twin fans mounted on the left side of the board, making it about twice as thick as a 'normal' accessory card.
Opened the case, and the PCI slot is right next to the power supply. The card could not physically fit into the slot, and if it did fit into the slot, the fans would be mushed against the power supply.
That'n is going back. The hunt goes on for a new one.
The Yeston RTX 3050 6GB GDDR6 seems a choice, as does the Maxsun GeForce RTX 3050 6GB GDDR6.
Any ideas? Comments? I'm kinda locked into the POP 4.
