Mark Pattinson played Flanker for the Huskies in the early 80s. A hometown hero from Roosevelt High School he caught a 12 yard touchdown pass from
Hugh Millen to take the lead over the Sooners in the 1985 Orange Bowl.

Kevin King was a massive defensive back standing at 6’3” and 200 Lbs. His long arms made him a killer at high pointing jump ball passes. A two time
Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 (‘15, ‘16) he played a major part in one of the best secondaries UW has seen in the 2000s.

Joe Jarzynka was a shifty return specialist/wide receiver. Joe was beloved by the Husky fans as a scrappy “do it all” player who refused to fair catch. He also kicked a 44 yard field goal against WSU . A walk on from Gig Harbor he lettered three years.

Nesby Glasgow played Defensive Back for the Dawgs in the late 1970s. A dominant coverage DB he won First-Team All-Pac-8 (‘77), First-Team All-Pac-10 (‘78) and Third-Team All-American (‘78) honors. Glasgow was recognized as part of Washington's All Century Team in 1990, and was inducted in the Husky Hall of Fame in 2001.

Rich Alexis was a home run threat every time he touched the ball for the Dawgs in the early 2000s. Known for his explosive playmaking he finished his Husky career tied for second on the career list for 50-yard rushes with five.

Jacque Robinson (father of Nate Robinson) played running back for the Huskies in the early 1980s. A skilled running back with impressive agility he is the first Freshmen to win the Rose Bowl MVP and only player to win the MVP of both Rose Bowl (‘82) and Orange Bowl (‘85) games. He also earned First-Team All-Pac-10 (‘82) and Second-Team All-Pac-10 (‘84).

Beno Bryant was a blazing speed demon for the Dawgs from 1989-1993. Known for his pure speed he was an All-American sprinter for the UW track and field team in the spring and served as a tailback/return specialist in the fall.

He was named First-Team All-Pac-10 team in 1990.

Junior Coffey is one of the greatest Fullbacks to ever play for the Dawgs. He chose to come to UW in the 1960s from Texas as the Southwest Conference (what would eventually become the Big 12) had yet to integrate.

As a Husky he earned several accolades including three Honorable Mention All-American (‘62, ‘63, ‘64), two First-Team All-PCC (‘62, ‘63) and one Third-Team All-PCC (‘64).

Cort Dennison played Inside Linebacker for the Huskies in the late 2000s to early 2010s. In 2011 he served as a team captain and lead the team in tackles with 128 while also winning Second-Team All-Pac-12 and Second-Team Academic All-Pac-12 honors.

Hugh McElhenney was an absolute super human of athleticism. Dubbed the original 5 star recruit out of Compton, California he is a member of both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame.

He earned one First-Team All-American (‘51) and two First-Team All-PCC (‘50 and ‘51) while playing for the Dawgs.

His NFL career he racked up 6 Pro Bowls (‘52, ‘53, ‘56, ‘57, ‘58, and ‘61) and 5 First-Team All-Pros (‘52, ‘53, ‘54, ‘56, ‘57). His pro number of 39 is retired for the San Francisco 49ers and is a member of the NFL 1950s All-Decade Team

George “Wildcat” Wilson is undoubtedly one of the all time greats in UW’s history. A member of the College Football Hall of Fame, his #33 is one of three retired numbers for the Dawgs. He was a consensus All-American (‘25), Second-Team All-American (‘24), and a three time First-Team All-PCC (‘23, ‘24, ‘25).

Greg Carothers played Strong Safety and Linebacker for the Dawgs in the early 2000s. Infamous as a hard hitting defender he earned honorable mention Freshman All-American honors in 2000 and honorable mention All-Pac-10 in 2002.

Dick Ottele was a defensive back and blocking back for the Dawgs in the 1940’s. He earned Second-Team All-PCC honors in 1944 before serving in the Navy during WWII. He returned to UW and played two more seasons at UW in 1946 and 1947 before being drafted by the NFL’s New York Giants in 1948. However, he had signed a contract in secret during his Senior season to play for the AAFC’s New York Yankees.
