Is it just me and where I'm located or is it impossible to find a field that has chill rec league games for walk ons?

I'm looking for something that's inbetween the sweat fest of speedball and less of a ren fair than scenario games.

Medium sized fields with teams of 10-15 who aren't there for a birthday party. This doesn't seem to exist around me.
