Following up the poll I posted, we're updating the subreddit rules to formally mark categories as off-topic, effective immediately:
1. Career, hiring, and referral posts
This includes asking for referrals, interview tips, "does anyone work at Rubrik," and similar posts. The poll leaned toward removing this content entirely, and it also lines up with the concerns we flagged going in: people posting personal info (resumes, names, contact details) publicly, no way to verify who's actually a Rubrik employee, and no way to confirm posters' intentions are genuine. Posts like this will now be removed and redirected to Rubrik's official careers page/channels.
In addition to Careers, there is a second subject that has happened in the past and adding it as "off-topic" should have low to no overall impact to the sub-reddit post count.
2. Stock and Financial Discussions
Posts and comments speculating on stock price, financials, earnings calls, or trading Rubrik (RBRK) shares are also now off-topic here. This sub is about the products, not the ticker, and this kind of content invites speculation we're not equipped to moderate responsibly.
Both will be added to the sidebar rules and the rules wiki page. Existing posts that fall into either category will be removed going forward; we're not retroactively cleaning up old threads.

Every hiring cycle, this sub gets a wave of posts asking for referrals, interview tips, or "does anyone work at Rubrik who can help me."
A few things have come up repeatedly that we want to flag before opening this up for a vote:
- People sharing personal info (resumes, contact details, full names) in public comments trying to get noticed, which puts their own privacy at risk.
- There's no way to verify that someone claiming to be a Rubrik employee offering a "referral" actually is one. That means anyone sharing personal details in DMs or comments has no real assurance about who's on the other end.
- Not every account posting in these threads may have genuine intentions
We want your input on how this sub should handle career/referral content going forward and explain your reasoning in the comments, This isn't binding just a gut check before we consider any rule changes.

I wanted to give a heads up that over the next few weeks I'll be making some updates to the subreddit.
Nothing drastic, but the sub has been around for a while and it's due for some housekeeping. The plan is to update the rules to make them clearer, add one about post flair being required, and clean up the sidebar with some useful resources.
I'll also be looking at the posting settings to make it easier for people to participate. This will open up the subreddit to those who have not joined. Complimentary to this, I'll be looking into some automations to monitor new posts for quality & content.
If there's something you've wanted to see here, or something that's bugged you, now is a good time to leave a comment. Happy to hear from people before I lock things in.
