ID help: Sumac, elder, tree of heaven or sorbaria?

Just taken over a small yard in GTA and can't quite decide what these plants are. They've clearly been chopped down in previous years but were left in the ground by the previous owners. I'm new to plant ID and can't decide between sumac, elder, tree of heaven or sorbaria. Any ideas?

If it's a native sumac I'll leave it, otherwise it's for the chop I think.

Edit: thanks for your advice everyone, I checked the little leaf feet and the smell - yup, smells like peanut butter. Guess I have a highly invasive Tree of Heaven on my hands. Three of them, in fact. Wish me luck

Those pre-formed coco fiber pot/basket liners, can they be used instead of mulch around the base of a baby tree?

I've been trying to find mulch for moisture, bug and weed control around the base of a tree sapling. Mulch and straw bags are only available round here in >40L bags, but I have very little storage space (zero) and only one plant that needs mulch, so buying such a lot is a waste. I know you can also use coco coir as mulch, so could I buy a coco fiber pre-shaped pot liner, cut it to lay it flat, and use that as a mulch mat?
