For basic edits, I think the easiest approach is using an AI editor where you can describe what you want instead of manually selecting every part of the image.

For example, you can start with an existing photo and ask the AI to change the background, adjust clothing, modify the lighting, or make another specific change. The important part is being clear about what should change and what should stay the same.

I usually start with one change at a time rather than giving it a huge list of instructions. It makes it much easier to see what the AI actually changed.

A lot of it comes down to too much motion and not enough information in the original image.

If the source photo has a partially hidden face, unusual pose, blurry details or complicated objects, the AI has to guess what those things should look like when they start moving. That's when you can get things like facial distortion, strange hands or backgrounds that appear to melt.

The prompt can also make a huge difference. I get better results when I describe a simple, realistic movement instead of trying to create an entire action scene from one still image.

I've had better experiences using Facy AI when I keep the movement controlled and start with a clean source image. If the first generation isn't right, changing the motion description is often more useful than completely changing the photo.

You don't really need traditional video editing skills for this anymore. Most image-to-video tools let you upload a still image and describe the movement you want to see.

The part that makes the biggest difference is being specific about the motion. Instead of just saying “animate this photo,” something like “slow camera push-in while the person smiles and slightly turns their head” gives the AI a much clearer direction.

I've been experimenting with Facy AI for this, especially when I already have a photo I like and just want to turn it into a short moving clip. It's pretty straightforward: upload the image, describe the movement, and let the AI generate the video. I'd recommend starting with subtle movements because they tend to look much more natural than trying to make the entire image move at once.

For those building or maintaining larger WordPress/WooCommerce installations, how are you approaching subscriptions these days?

I'm less interested in the basic "create a subscription product" part and more interested in the architecture around it.

Things like: recurring billing and renewal failures, subscription status and lifecycle management, membership access, content restriction, plan upgrades/downgrades, customer self-service, reducing plugin conflicts

At some point, stitching together a subscription plugin, membership plugin and separate access-control system can become harder to maintain than the original problem.

I initially thought recurring billing was the main problem, but there seems to be a lot more to it once you have actual customers.

A failed renewal can become a support ticket. A cancellation can mean losing a customer who might have stayed if they could simply pause or downgrade. And if membership access and billing are handled separately, there can be delays or mismatched customer statuses.

I'm looking into ways of keeping those workflows closer together rather than adding another plugin every time a new requirement appears

An upscaler shouldn't just make an image bigger. A lot of them technically increase the resolution but add strange textures or make faces look artificial.

What I usually look for is whether the details become clearer without changing the original image too much. Facy AI did a surprisingly good job with that for portraits and older photos because the results looked sharper while still feeling natural.
