Getting a 2022 Colorado on four jack stands
Hey everybody I've asked a few forms and figured I might as well also ask Reddit. Just want to confirm some things. I picked up a few smaller cars from pinch welds and jack points that are pretty clearly outlined in owners manuals or other online manuals.
But I'm having trouble confirming for this truck if lifting by anywhere on that black frame rail is okay. I need to get all four wheels off the ground to change brakes and change brake fluid.
My thought is to lift from the center of the frame rail and put jack stands at the ends as shown in the pictures. But I'm not sure if you're supposed to support the car from the center of that frame rail or not. I've seen and done it with other trucks a while back but I can't confirm for this one if it's okay.
I've also seen other people put jack stands on the rear axle, so if that's okay I guess I could lift from the rear jack stand point I've marked out in the pictures and set one jack stand in the front on the frame rail and one on the rear axle.
Ideally I'd like to lift half the truck up at a time and get two jack stands under and then do the other side. I read online somewhere that you shouldn't lift from the diff even though a lot of people do, and you shouldn't lift from that subframe brace underneath the engine towards the front of the car.
If anyone's got any advice would love it.
