Addition vs detached shed/building — what would you do?

I need another temp-controlled room because I have another child now. My son is almost 9, so eventually he could use the space too.
I’m debating between:

adding a room (or 2) onto my house
OR getting a really nice insulated detached building about 10 feet behind the house

If I do the detached building, I’d fully finish it:
mini split
insulation
drywall
flooring
power/internet
I’m trying to avoid spending $50k–$100k+ on an addition just for another room or 2
For those who’ve done either:
what would you recommend?
any regrets?
does the detached setup still feel practical long term?

40k to continue WFH or 65k to be in office?

Hi guys,

This might be a no brainer but does it make sense to leave a wfh job making 40k (great work life balance) or go in office and make 65k with a 16 minute commute one way? Sounds like a no brainer, I’m sure it is but wanted to hear different perspectives. To preface,I have been at the 40k a year job for 4.5 years, not a single penny raise so far, and basically no room for advancement. The 65k a year job, definitely room for advancement in future and super relaxed culture.
