15L City Tote vs 15L Everyday Tote as personal item for flying

For quite a while now I have been eyeing one of the tote bags for a personal item that will nicely fit on top of my roller while walking around, and can be used as a quick-access bag during travel/flights to carry and access my essentials. I hoped the Travel Weekender would fill this need, but it is simply much too large for my needs.

Does anyone have both of these bags and is able to give me a rundown of how they compare? I like the idea of the City Tote for its lightweight nature, although it is technically slightly too large to be a personal item on most flights (but it is certainly flexible/foldable enough to hide that fact).

On the other hand the design of the Everyday Tote seems more in line with other Peak Design bags I own and love (the 6L Everyday Sling and 20L Everyday Backpack) but seems like it might be a little less organized. These bags will purely be used to carry non-photography items such as my laptop, tablet, nintendo switch, and general essentials + some snacks.

Any thoughts are much appreciated!
