Arrivals Build & Provisional Road Layout for Terminal 1, Custom LEGO Airport Update - 15th May 2026.

Firstly, I just want to thank those who have kindly left encouraging comments from my previous posts, it's much appreciated. Feedback is always helpful.

This is how the Terminal 1 building is looking from late April '26. I have made a slight extension to the level 2 departure gates 1 & 2 waiting area - the extra overhang provides a little more seating space.

I've added in a Pick-up & Drop-off road layout, temporarily - this is subject to change. I'm also considering building a small multi-storey car park, similar (or identical to) set 6394.

The largest construction I've added is the near-completion of the Arrivals building: Passport Control, Baggage Re-claim through to the Customs exit. I will finally add on a arrivals waiting area & entry/exit out of the airport.

I've also implemented a second stairway in the Departures building to a third level (yet to be built). The third level will include Duty-free shops & Cafe/Restaurants, as well as specialist airline lounges for premium-paying customers. Building this won't start until I've completed the Arrivals building and Departures boarding pier.

In conjunction to this, I will also shortly be starting work -or more specifically, re-working- of the Terminal 2 building.

At present, much of the building work has come to a stop until a bricks & pieces order arrives.

Custom LEGO Airport, Terminal 1 Update - 8th May 2026.

This posting and the current selection of photos of my custom airport shown here (from 28th February to 20th March '26) is the first update and actual building work I've carried out since the Autumn of 2025.

My first posting from last year was a general overview of my project with a short, varied selection of images of the airport & aircraft builds, just to give a general lay-of-the-land.

Here I wanted to show a bit more detail of the current state of what's going on, how the build is progressing and where I take the project from here.

After 5 months or so of zero work on the airport - I diverted my focus on other pressing activities and chores, particularly on the run-up to Christmas - I returned to building in February and turned my attention to Terminal 1.

I have added a public toilet at the left end of the departures terminal; I've re-built the entrance access into the building; the right side of the departures section has been re-built and re-arranged to accommodate the arrivals section and beginnings of the boarding pier.

The first part of the boarding pier has been attached with technic pins. The plan is that this will have added sections attached to extend the pier further out by about 1 & 1/2 baseplates, roughly. Most of it will be held up with pillars, but the section shown in the photo, hanging with only technic pins holding it up is due to being unable to have a pillar below so that a road plate can run underneath it.

The arrivals section has the beginnings of a Passport Control zone being set-up. There are two entrances to Passport Control, one underneath the boarding pier, the second through the end of the T1 departures section, running parallel - the grey archway is where the passengers meet the first queue.

The departures hall has further tiles and plates added to the floor. I have applied numbered stickers to the baggage check-in signs. The design of the check-in desks with the over hanging signs is loosely based on London-Heathrow's old Terminal 1 check-in area in the 1990s.

Since these photos were taken, I have continued further development on the terminal during April & early May - mostly on the arrivals section - so there has been some change since these pictures have been uploaded. I will provide images in due course of how the build is currently looking.

I will also upload posts with images on previous building progress on terminals 1 & 2 from 2025, to give a 'then & now' comparison.
