Client sent a text meant for neighbor
This is day one of a 12 day sit. First pic is the husband second and third are the wife.
I was already considering firing these clients bc they had moved and were 25 minutes away and then I moved so it’s now like 30-35 minutes. I felt bad since they always say how much they love and appreciate me, but I was thinking it might just not be feasible anymore. But I was still going to try it out and see how I felt.
So they left around 4:00. I get these messages as I’m pulling into their neighborhood at 8:00. They also said they would feed the dog before leaving and have her leash out. I eventually found the leash nowhere near her harness. After our walk, I’m out back on the phone and someone calls me from the gate. She apologized for ringing the bell and I said I didn’t hear it since I was out back and she said “yea they told me you were out here with the dog” meaning they can still see their cameras and text her, they just weren’t responding to me and were watching me search for her leash. I assume it’s the next door neighbor checking in but she proceeds to tell me she’s their groomer and gives me her number saying “call if you need anything. I’m only 5 miles away” (I guess she was the intended recipient of the message).
So I figured it’s the perfect time to send the break up text even though it’s day one. We’ll see if they want me to finish it out
ETA: these people have been clients for 3.5 years and there’s never been any issues before this
UPDATE: this morning I sent an update to the husband about the dog and he responded as if nothing had happened. So I just sent him another picture of the dog and said “just confirming you guys want me to complete the sit, correct?” And he responded “yes. I know you probably don’t want to finish but we don’t have a backup” so yea I’m here for the next week and a half
