Is the AC in Second Street supposed to be THIS loud?
Hey everyone, I’m living in NYU Second Street and I’m wondering if my AC is unusually loud or if this is normal for the building.
I previously lived in Lipton Hall, and the AC there was definitely audible, but it sounded more like a small river flowing — just a steady, relaxing airflow sound.
My AC in Second Street is completely different. It sounds like a wild river and I’m sitting in a kayak. It’s loud enough that I find it pretty irritating, especially when I’m trying to sleep or study.
For anyone who lives/lived in Second Street:
Is your AC also this loud?
Does it sound like a strong rushing/roaring noise?
Or is mine possibly malfunctioning and needs maintenance?
I’d really appreciate it if someone with a Second Street room could let me know what their AC sounds like.
