Ethical Chameleon Breeders/Rescues

Hi!

I am making this post on behalf of one of my friends, who doesn't have reddit.

My friend has been looking into getting a chameleon for a few years now and has had their setup fully ready for several months, but has been struggling to find ethical breeders or rescues in our area (we are in the Mid-Atlantic region of the US). They are experienced with herps, but have not had a chameleon before. However, they have done years of research and have a great set-up that they have put so much love and care into.

They have gone to a handful of expos, but they either didn't have any chamleons or had them in bad condition and my friend didn't want to accidentally buy wild-caught. We have also gone to our local reptile/exotics store, but with no luck, so I wanted to see if I could get some help from this subreddit! I am a python keeper myself and have had found a great community in that subreddit, so I wanted to try here.

They are open to a range of different types of chameleons, but have done the most research on Panthers, Veileds, and Jackson's chameleons. They initially were interested in a juvenile or a young adult, but are now open to any age. The only aspect that they are sure of is that they are looking for a male chameleon (to avoid potential issues with egg-binding).

If anyone knows any ethical breeders, good rescues, other places to look, please let me know in the comments! Would also appreciate any other advice regarding telling if a chameleon seller/rescue is ethical.

TLDR: Looking for an ethical chameleon breeder or rescue to get a male chameleon (Panther, Veiled, or Jackson's)
