I’ve got around a $1600 budget. I’ve ridden bikes all my life but never had a pure endurance bike and I have a great paved bike trail near me. I think a Shimano 105 is out of my budget. Go with Tiagra?

A different part of me sees myself bikepacking years later and wonder if I should get a gravel bike now and get some road wheels to maximize versatility.

That being said, the most I would ride on would be on a paved bike trail. (FOR NOW)
